There are many exercises in the Pilates method that are best performed with a comfortable thick mat, this keeps the pressure off of the joints in the knee, shoulders, and spine.

Ok this mat is just plain beautiful, and you all know if you have been to our studios were a sucker for good esthetics. We really dig the cushy feel on these mats and the ridging on the front and back of the mat help assist in certain exercises. Only downside of this mat is the hefty price tag.

I own two of these Amazon Yoga Mats and they are thicker than the two above. So, if you suffer from pain during a workout and have to double up your mats this is a great option to only having to use one mat. It's from Amazon so the price point is great, ships fast, and I love this one for anytime I know I'll be doing a ton of inversion exercises or doing exercises where I need to be in a kneeling position.
